POSITION SUMMARY
MGA Entertainment, a consumer entertainment products company, is searching for a Web Programmer to join our team! Please note that this is a Contract position. The Web Programmer assists the Senior Programmer in planning, designing, and executing JavaScript, PHP, ActionScript, MySQL, and Unity3D application builds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web Programmer candidates must have rock-solid understanding of both Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) and how those concepts apply to web applications. The primary technological focus of the job is the LAMP stack. Candidate's knowledge of OOP/OOD should be language agnostic and applied as a holistic understanding of application design and function. Specifically, the Web Programmer must have strong skills with PHP5, JavaScript, MySQL, and Linux (Ubuntu server knowledge is a big plus). Working knowledge of Subversion (SVN), ActionScript, BASH, and .NET are desirable. Finally, the Web Programmer will be expected to take a leadership role on smaller projects and must have the skills and interpersonal abilities to lead the junior developers.
It is essential that the Web Programmer be able to work without the aid of WYSIWYG editors and frameworks. All candidates must pass a skills assessment as part of the interview process.
We only run Mac OS and Linux for desktop environments, and candidates must be comfortable working on one or the other.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Relevant portfolio of work.
