MGA Entertainment a consumer entertainment products company, is searching for an Engineer Manager to join our Little Tikes Company in Hudson OH!
Member of product development management team responsible for providing engineering leadership and direction for assigned business team. Work with Product Designers and Product Engineers in the development of new products, providing expert knowledge and direction to design approach to optimize part design, tooling, assembly, and manufacturing methods. Lead engineering team members and assign project workloads based team member’s abilities, work load, business team’s project priority, and committed timelines.
Essential Functions:
• Work closely with Business Team members to develop feasible goals for the team.
• Procure/secure required engineering support to meet Business Team goals and objectives.
• Develop engineering timelines; verify costs and feasibility of new product developments.
• In conjunction with Business Team members, submit capital and expense requests for projects which include commitments to product cost, capital budget, timeline, and product features.
• Assign engineers to specific projects based on Little Tikes Company and Business Team priorities, as well as engineer’s experience level.
• Management of all Business Team’s new products (20 or more at one time), from design concept to manufacturing start up, by leading engineers through the product development process.
• Communication of product timelines, costs and capital budgets to key personnel in other departments.
• Oversee product assemblies, detail drawings, procuring of prototype models and tooling patterns.
• Achieve Quality Assurance approval of new products prior to production to ensure compliance with internal and mandatory safety standards. |
| Experience Required: |
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related degree plus a minimum of 8 years experience in development of consumer goods.
• Proven leadership and project management skills demonstrating the ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects while leading and directing a group of engineers in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to achieve committed schedules and budgets.
• Must be willing to travel internationally if necessary.
• Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to assimilate and implement change quickly.
